Day of Fudge
March 8, 2009 at 9:10 am | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentI would like to invite everyone to celebrate the 1st Day of Fudge on June 6, 2009! This event where 10 volunteer Game Masters will run 4-hour gamings sessions in their respective localities. The aim is to introduce Fudge, the role-playing game, to the public and have lots of fun doing it.
The idea (challenge, actually) came from Patrick Benson at the Fudge Community:
“Would others be interested in participating in a “Day of Fudge” where we
the Fudge community make arrangements with our local game shops,
libraries, etc., to run a game of Fudge? We have lots of material in the
form of pre-written adventures and others takes on games. Nothing fancy.
No big promotions. Just word of mouth and viral marketing. We just agree
on a date, and post about our experiences leading up to the event and
how the games went.”
So, if you’re a Fudge fan, share your love of the game with others – be a volunteer GM in your area. Or, if you’re curious or new, join the Day of Fudge and lets have fun together!
NOTE: The official publisher of Fudge is Grey Ghost Press, Inc.. The Fudge 1995 Edition is available for free in several electronic formats from various sources (including Grey Ghost). Grey Ghost also publishes the current hardcover version, the Fudge 10th Anniversary Edition (q.v.).
Fudge: Megalomania

From Wikipedia:
“Megalomania is a historical term for behavior characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, genius, or omnipotence – often generally termed as delusions of grandeur. It’s a Greek word ,”megalo” meaning “very large”, “great”, or “exaggerated” and “mania” meaning obsession thus combining to denote an obsession with, either in the form of irrational perceived need for or preoccupation with in one’s own estimation having and/or obtaining, grandiosity and extravagance (especially in the form of great fame and popularity, material wealth, social influence or political power, or more than one or even all of the aforesaid) and accompanying complete desirous and bombastic abandon; a common symptom if not the key diagnostic feature of megalomania.”
“Fudge is a generic role-playing game system for use in freeform role-playing games. Fudge offers a customizable toolkit for building the users’ own specialized role-playing game system. Such things as what attributes and skills will define characters are left to be determined by the Game Master and players, and several different optional systems for resolving actions and conflicts are offered. Fudge is not tied to any particular genre or setting and world builders are encouraged to invent appropriate attributes and rules tailored to the campaign.“
Put them together and what do we get? Fudge: Megalomania, of course! I want to design a game where all our megalomaniacal fantasies can come true… with the help of the Fudge RPG System.
I’ll update you guys later on how this is going. Ideas are welcome. Thanks
